Sustainability

More can be achieved now than ever before through sustainable means. From the use of natural energy sources such as the sun, wind, methane and the tides we can utilize clean energy. Through recycling of old products we can create new goods without mining all new natural resources. Through natural methods, we can purify and re-use, water. With the application of sustainable technologies we can make water go further, reducing our water usage. With improved building materials, we can decrease our impact on the land and make our homes healthier and regulate temperature more efficiently. With alternate fuels, we can travel for less cost and a decreased impact on the earth. Sustainable technologies are the way of the future, and applying them to a diversity of life practices around the world ensures that we have a healthier environment and a healthier population. DINNTEK innitiates sustainable practices in every project to educate and improve the health of communities, as well as decrease the impact on the land, and financial strain on community groups.

Sustainability is towards creating a vibrant society and economically more productive future:

» Education and outreach
» Local Sustainable Food production technology
» Locally Grown Organically healthy and natural food
» Plant natural healthy products development
» Water Conservation, recycling and reuse
» Small Farmer entreprise and cooperative system
» Energy efficiencies and use of alternative energy source
» Food Security and innovative production system
» Climate Change adaptability
» Economic Revitalization

Rising fossil fuels price, and increasing competition for water with climate change and uncertainties necessitate changes that we may prepare ourselves for the challenges and options in the future. The challenge is to create an integrative and interdisciplinary unit to provide the science and technology transfer for developments of enterprises and work for global development for agriculture, healthy food production, limited water resource, usage and development of renewable and efficient energy sources.

Technology & Education Center

Experiential Learning approach of Dinntek is to bring nontraditional way of learning-by-doing in a very informal set up. The future workforce needs to be trained in such way that they meet easily the challenges of 21st century and new world economy.

The Motto of Dinntek Education is to promote hands-on-learning (show-me-tell-me method) and applying innovative minds together for bringing solutions to safeguard both the present and future generation:

» Technology, Science and Social science merged interdisciplinary learning
» Business and community interface learning
» Develop a pilot holistic learning model integrated with cultural and regional learning tools
» Provide support for critical thinking and innovation for self-discovery
» Global Innovation Lab and Technology Center

Renewable Energy

Harnessing the important natural renewable energy source like solar, wind, water, biomass, geothermal, hydrogen and fuel cells are key to the success for the clean and energy independents for the communities and nation. For the long term vitality of economy and to mitigate the risk of climate change the clean energy source, energy efficiency best practices and alternative and innovative methods needs to be adapted.

The present century has seen a incremental synergy in worldwide efforts for the renewable energy innovations (solar, geothermal, wind, hydro, biomass, biofuel) to change the way living lifestyle, businesses and industries are powered, vehicles are fueled and food production is done. Developing renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies has become an economic necessity as demand for future energy is going to grow as price increase of fossil fuel is unsustainable and has greater risk of climate change uncertainties.

First generation feedstocks such as corn, cane and other agronomic crops rely on the fermentation of sugars to produce ethanol which can either directly replace or supplement gasoline fuel. The aim of second generation and green fuel feedstock development is to implement non-food crop biomass for the purpose of renewable energy. Ethanol and biodiesel are mostly extracted from food crop like corn, sugar beet, palm oil and rapeseed hence a big criticism for driving up food prices and risking biodiversity is a great concern. The second-generation biofuels (switch grass, Miscanthus, bio-waste, forestry residues) crop has potential to drive away from sharing food for fuel.

"Greening the Cities & Feeding the World"

Efficient Water and Renewable Energy Use for Sustainable Food Production

Dinntek's mission is to provide sustainable healthy food production technologies which use fewer natural resources (water, energy etc.) and chemicals using state of the art engineering, plant science and harnessing the mother nature's abundant light and agro-ecological zones suitability.

Sustainable Food production, efficient water and energy use are major challenges facing the world in the 21st Century in terms of the supply of adequate food, water and energy to meet the growing needs of people and to preserve the environment. At present, agriculture is facing new challenges with a new paradigm shift into clean and renewable energy, adapting to climate change, conservation and efficient use of limited water, protection of the environment, controlling pollution, and biodiversity. Rising fossil fuel price and increasing competition for water, along with climate change and other uncertainties necessitate change as we prepare for the challenges and options in the future.

The overall challenge is to create an integrative and interdisciplinary unit to provide the science and technology transfer for development of enterprises and to work for global development for agriculture, healthy food production, limited water resource, usage and development of renewable and efficient energy sources. A growing awareness of conventional agriculture’s contribution to climate change and concerns over its consumption of water and energy are creating markets for technological innovation to minimize those effects. An urban area requires local and urban/suburban food production systems which secure the readily available food and its quality.

"Greening the City and Feeding the World"

Extended populations around the world go hungry every day. Suffering from hunger can weaken the body’s immune system. According to the World Health Organization, poor nutrition means that individuals are less productive (both due to physical and mental impairment), and that children benefit less from education. According to USDA Economic Research Service (ERS), during 2010, an estimated 14.5% of US houselds were food insecure. With improved farming techniques, and agricultural technologies, it is possible to feed people more efficiently. DINNTEK is dedicated to working with communities to improve agricultural standards and decrease suffering from hunger and malnutrition.

Beside consulting services, Dinntek is also going to forge partnerships and alliances to design, build and market food production solutions--from growing to delivering to the "household plate" using safe and secure process for the better future of communities and people around the globe.
